Guest posting can be a scary proposition.  Will you get it right?  Or, will you embarrass yourself?

I think I got it right.

Deby, over at www.moms-make-money.com put out a call for guest bloggers for this topic: What Advice Would You Give Newbie Bloggers?

It got me thinking about when I first entered the blogesphere, years and years ago.  I was already a writer, albeit not a writer who blogged (yet). I wasn’t trying to make money off my blog, either.  In those days it was more of a way to keep up with family and friends, and a place for me to blow off stream.  But, the byproduct was I learned about what worked and what fell flat.

Many of today’s bloggers hope to make their blogs profitable.  So, what could I offer to those getting into the medium?

One thing I know intimately about writing, one thing I still strive to hone today, is the importance of finding your unique voice in a marketplace packed with voices.  You are uniquely you and there is no one quite like you; use that to your advantage.
